Tech Trick Tuesday

Right-Click for Quick Web Searching

Not all of these tech tricks are super insightful, depending on where you’re at on the tech-spectrum. But I managed to forget last Tuesday, and I’m about to go on a week’s vacation, so forgive me if this is a stretch for a tech trick. 😉 Still. This one will save you a couple seconds of copying and pasting or retyping into a search engine.

Let’s say a friend of mine is quoted in a Forbes article.

And then pretend I don’t know what half these terms are.

OK, I really have no idea what half these terms mean.

Instead of copying or retying, highlight the word or phrase you want to look up and, using your mouse, right-click on the highlighted word/phrase.

Right under “Copy” is “Search Google for ‘cryptocurrencies.'” This will take you to a Google search-results page.

Now, don’t ask me about Mac shortcuts!

You can do the same thing on your iPhone. Highlight the word/phrase you want to look up. Select “Look Up.”

You can pick from one of the suggested websites, or scroll to the bottom and select “Search Web.”

You’ll end up with the search-results page.
